Curt Novak PB-90

Curt Novak PB-90

My 1973 brown P bass has been my number one for many years. The stock pickups were rewound by Seymour Duncan in the 80's. I have never come across a P that I liked more than mine, until recently, when, at a live gig, my friend's 70's P sounded just as good, and maybe even better. Live gigs are the best barometer, so I brought mine to compare and contrast with his. Anyway, I had a Curt Novak Charlie Christian P bass pickup from another build laying around, and wanted to experiment. I had an early version of the pickup, and it did not fit(a problem that has since been rectified). I saw the Novak PB-90 and it seemed like a better fit for my needs. Curt sent it to me, and I can honestly say that the Novak PB-90 is the best P replacement I have ever come across. It improved a bass that I thought could not be improved further. The same great sound, but louder- and more of it!
