How to Strip Thick Paint off an EH Holden

Lady Penelope Gets a Makeover Catherine’s 1963 EH Holden is affectionately known as Lady Penelope and Catherine wasn’t going to do what everyone before her had done & just paint over the top of that last coat of paint, oh no, she wasn’t having any of that nonsense for her girl, she was going to give her a complete makeover. Catherine has decided to completely strip her back to the raw steel, fix her flaws and then paint her ‘Thunderbird Pink’. After meeting the Cooper’s Strip Club, Catherine was more than happy to start Lady Penelope’s makeover by having us strip her Bonnet / Hood. See how we strip our way through nearly 60 years of built-up paint jobs, even the original lead-based body filler was still there. See how the whole project was done without the need for any messy, toxic sanding. Just a quick point, you may see what can be easily mistaken for scratch marks caused by the scraper, not so, sometimes as the blade is lightly dragged across the steel it will leave a smooth polished steel mark, which is in fact what these are, no drama. Cheers to Catherine for allowing us the opportunity to do our thing and cheers to you for taking the time to watch this video. Learn more at https://coopersstripclub.com
