Dreamspace: Making Of - Experimental Virtual Production 'Camdroid'

The EU funded project Dreamspace will research, develop and demonstrate tools that enable creative professionals to combine live performances, video and computer-generated imagery in real time and collaborate to create imaginative entertainment and experiences. During the experimental production 'Camdroid' at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg's Institute of Animation a team of researchers developed a pipeline to instantly combine on-set Performance Capture and real-time match move technology by Ncam. We furthermore evaluated the use of new set editing tools realized with a novel combination of Virtual Reality goggles and gesture recognition sensor.
