Date: March 25, 2021 Title: An Overview of Hurricane History, Hazards, and Forecasting Speaker: John Cangialosi, Senior Hurricane Specialist, National Hurricane Center Abstract: The presentation will show some highlights from the past few hurricane seasons and provide a broader view of tropical cyclone climatology. In addition, the presentation will also provide an overview of how tropical cyclone forecasts are made and the recent progress in the predictions. Bio: John Cangialosi is a senior hurricane specialist at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida. He has been employed at NHC since 2005 and is an expert in tropical cyclone forecasting, marine forecasting, and tropical cyclone applied research.
