Process of making this book: This book is 17x11cm, it can be opened up to 1m length or flipped through like a normal book. Pages don’t open to the maximum, instead, they form a triangle, and therefore more textures can appear. I started by cutting an old lino engraving print in long straps. I’ll use it as the background. I’m using 200gms papers in many colors. I always keep little bits that remain from cutting paper. They can save a lot of time and be used to add some extra textures and layers. At this point, I keep flipping through the book to see if there are some places that need to be glued or need an extra layer of paper to better fit in with the rest of the pages. I’m adding yellow paper on the back of the book to make it look neater and to make it stiffer. I always make the endpapers bigger at the beginning and chop them after I have glued them to the book. For me, that is the easier way I cut the square hole in the front cover. I really like how it looks and I started doing it to almost every book I make. Always sand the cardboard you make the covers from! We want all the edges to be neat! I use three embroidered circles to sign my books. I also made a box to store this book and to protect it. Thanks for watching!
