This problem is similar to the previous problem Problem 01 (2015). It discusses the solution of a 50-m long uninsulated rectangular duct. The air inlet temperature is 10 deg C and the attic temperature is 40 deg C. The relative surface roughness of the duct is 0.001. The volume flow rate of the air is given and the dimensions of the duct. The problem represents a constant wall temperature problem with turbulent internal convection. Special care is also taken in the calculation of the Reynolds number with reference to the calculation of the Reynolds number directly from the mass flow rate. The lecture is a supplementary exercise problem to Lectures 01 (2015) to 05 (2015) on Internal Forced Convection. The lecture was presented by Prof Josua Meyer, Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Pretoria, South Africa. It is part of the heat transfer curriculum of the fourth year students of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. The lecture was presented on 3 April 2015.
