Rockslide forces closure of Highway 50 near Echo Summit

A rockslide early Friday morning has closed a stretch of Highway 50 near Echo Summit, authorities say. Both westbound and eastbound lanes are closed just east of the summit in El Dorado County, Caltrans District 3 said. The slide was reported at 5:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
