This was personal. MJ came out with guns blazing, finished with 28 points and the Bulls closed out the Heat in game five of the Eastern Conference Finals, 100-87. Still not a great shooting performance for MJ - he hit just 11 of 31 shots. But with Scottie Pippen out for most of the game with a foot injury and with all the hype around the game, Jordan admitted to pressing things a little and trying to do too much. Nonetheless, the Bulls got a solid team effort and earned a spot in the NBA Finals for the fifth time in seven years. The Utah Jazz would join them after beating Houston in the Western Conference Finals.
