Lawyers Say Marjorie Taylor Greene Lied Under Oath

The legal team that is trying to get Marjorie Taylor Greene booted off the ballot this year have filed a new motion in court arguing that she lied under oath. The lawyers argue that most of what Greene "could not recall" during her several hours of testimony is readily available in tweets and videos and other materials that prove there's no way she didn't recall them. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses the new legal filing and whether or not it has a chance of success. Link - https://www.huffpost.com/entry/oppone... On Friday, the legal team that is working to get Marjorie Taylor Greene kicked off the ballot in the state of Georgia, filed a motion in court asking that her entire three hour testimony from April 22nd effectively be deemed not credible because these lawyers are claiming that Marjorie Taylor Greene went up there on the witness stand and did nothing but lie and obfuscate for that entire three hours. Specifically, they point out the fact that she allegedly did not recall, which she claimed I think how many times was it, 80 times to the questions they asked her, 80 times she was like, I don't recall. I don't remember. And then of course they were able to show the clips that she had posted online. They showed the tweets she had posted. Posts from other social media outlets. They said, well, here it is. Here's the thing you don't remember. Now, do you remember? And then of course, every now and then she'd be like, oh yeah, that. Whoa, totally forgot about it. So the lawyers are arguing that, hey, she's lying when she says she doesn't remember these things. So her entire testimony should be deemed not credible. I agree with these lawyers. Problem is I'm not the judge. I'm not overseeing this case. I'm sure everybody watching this as well, except for maybe a couple of trolls, you agree with this as well. Like it's pretty obvious she was lying to all of us that were watching this. The problem is, can you prove that she didn't remember these things? And the answer is no you can't. No you can't. And unfortunately, sometimes it really is as simple as that. Even though we have the evidence, like yes, you said this, you, we, me, we're not in her head. There is a legitimate chance she doesn't remember this. Now I don't believe that. Okay. Trust me. I don't believe she doesn't remember. But I can't prove that she's lying when she says she doesn't remember folks. That's the problem. And I know these lawyers know that, and they're hoping that the judge basically just agrees with them because this is something that you cannot prove. You cannot prove or disprove what is in somebody's mind. And that's where cases like this really do start to get difficult. And it does start to get frustrating, obviously, for those of us sitting there watching it. We know she's lying. We feel deeply that she is lying. But none of us can prove it and that's what makes it so hard. And that's why I always say, we sometimes have to temper our expectations. These lawyers are doing phenomenal work. These lawyers are in the right. They're making all the correct decisions. They're filing all the right motions. I support everything they have done and I am not at all trying to downplay what they're doing or saying that they're going off a dead end. They should do this. The problem is this judge already seems very sympathetic to Marjorie Taylor Greene. And because we cannot prove or disprove what is in her mind, I don't know that this motion is going to be successful.
