Review of ProHT dimmable LED 5 Watt candle light bulbs and a comparison to incandescent Type CA candelabra E12 base bulbs. These 35 watt incandescent equivalent LED bulbs provide an energy efficient option to traditional incandescent bulbs, but the design still isn't right for the application. If you can live with the aesthetics (and get them to fit in the socket), you will reap the benefits of energy efficient light bulbs. Ecosmart makes a bulb that looks identical to ProHT's bulb (available at Home Depot). In fact, The market is overcrowded with egg shaped candelabra bulbs! Other companies selling egg-looking bulbs include: Ecosmart, Philips, Albrillo, Aooshine, Cree, Lakes, Ikea, Feit, JandCase, Kakanuo, AmbiMall, Acaxin, Lunsy, Lohas, Litake, Lvwit, TGMold, SunLite, AED lighting... to name a few. In my opinion, all these bulbs are UGLY! These ProHT bulbs are available at Home Depot. For an aesthetically pleasing bulb, see my review of the Bulbrite LED filament bulb: • Video ***Revision: The "egg" may or may not be an actual ballast. The egg is where the components (chips, heat plate, etc.) are housed. Always check manufacturer's website for exact product specifications.
