RACE, DIVERSITY & SPRITUALITY: CROSSING BOUNDARIES – CHANGING PERSPECTIVES November 2-3, 2018. Benedictine University, 5700 College Dr., Lisle, IL. Daniel L. Goodwin Hall Racial Identity Organization, Inc. is designed to empower individuals, families, and groups across the racial identity spectrum to undo racism and build a more equitable and inclusive future by 2050. Our vision is to create an inclusive and supportive space where people of all racial identities access resources and educational materials to improve and inspire their lives. Our movement is a direct response to the ever-growing population of individuals that fall between and across socially-constructed and politically- maintained racial categories. The program begins in the evening on Friday, November 2nd, at 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., and continues Saturday, November 3rd, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. “The morality of a sovereign nation depends on the ethical character of its leaders and citizens. The moral fiber of a country as we understand it solidifies all our human rights with dignity, justice, and courage. The threads that hold the American flag together will become unstitched unless we create an atmosphere of meaningful dialogue and communication. Human nature in-itself is fragile and will not sustain petulance of racism, bigotry, and hatred. So, we need to have a dialogue about mindful communication, tolerance, and respect”, said Gregory J. Evans, Founder – Racial Identity Organization, Inc. We have developed 14 Topics for this seminar, and they are all critical topics that will help members in a free democratic society understand human and race relations that fosters the spirit of unity, trust, and inclusion for home, work, and play. We recommend that corporations send individuals who work in various sectors of your organizations. Since this program is community-based, individuals who have an interest in joining a diversity and inclusion committee or new in human resources department will find this program very helpful. Our EIN is: 82-0918919 Seminar presentations include the practice of mindful awareness can help change the way we see the world and our place in it. While we all identify with others based on our skin tone, ethnicity, gender, culture, social-political differences, sexual preference, and class the foundation for our survival is based on how we treat each other, equity and equality. Simply, if we all learn how to communicate at a level of tolerance and compassion, then we can make a difference in our Universe. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This program is designed for human resource personnel, teachers, administrators, students and the public in general. If you have a difficult time in learning how to discuss racial issues or simply want to learn how to enhance relations in multi-cultural situations, this is it. This is not a diversity certification program. We don’t offer a certification so that you can deliberate on how to treat members at the workplace or your association. Taking an exam and becoming aware of your shortcomings through a series of exercises is not a wholistic program. What we offer you is how to develop critical ideals that are manifested through a discussion of meaningful dialogue as an interactive skill for maintaining a humanistic, mindful and visionary approach to solving problems. Additionally, you will learn how to build and gain leadership skills and become a better communicator on race, race relations and social justice.
