먹는 치료제 모레 도입...활용 방안 내일 발표 South Korea will receive its first batch of COVID-19 oral treatment on Thursday. Authorities will release detailed guidelines on how and when they will distribute them later this week. Shin Ye-eun has the full story. The first batch of Pfizer's COVID-19 antiviral pills... enough to treat 20 thousand patients... is set to arrive in South Korea on Thursday. These pills may be available for use from as early as Friday. They will be used in health clinics, for people recovering at home and those who are at high-risk of becoming critically ill. This includes seniors, those with other underlying health conditions, and even the unvaccinated. In order for this treatment to work, patients must take three pills two times a day in the first five days they report any symptoms. One South Korean health expert says that distribution should be done swiftly and efficiently. "It would be impossible for public workers to deliver pills to each person in need if there's more than 20-thousand to 30-thousand patients. Local clinics should be able to prescribe them." Authorities are set to reveal detailed guidelines on Wednesday as to how and when these pills will be used.
