This is a demonstration of Shang Tsung in the Genesis / Mega Drive version of Mortal Kombat 1. Read on below for more information... Shang Tsung is the final boss. He is an unplayable character. For this video, we have Shang Tsung on the Genesis / Mega Drive version of MK1. When compared to the SNES version, this is another case of the Genesis version being far more 'lenient' - meaning that you can do much more with him without freezing the game. ===== Additional Information ===== ---- Interestingly, due to Probe Entertainment being lazy and not programming in his 'morph' animations, this means when you press Down he does nothing... where on the SNES and Arcade versions he shows his morph animations. ---- If you punch him rapidly, he'll turn into another character. In this video's case, he turns into Goro, which funnily enough activates temporary CPU control. It's NOT me doing Goro's moves! ---- If you hit him standing, he'll start to slide back for some reason. ---- If you keep tapping Left or Right repeatedly, he'll start to shift down the screen. This also happens on the Arcade version as well. As you probably know by now, the 2D Mortal Kombat games are programmed in a way that the CPU and Human player flags are almost completely different... the CPU controls the characters in a way that a Human player can never do, this especially applies to the bosses. Once a human player selects an unplayable boss, the boss character is flagged as a 'normal' character which results in the game 'seeing' the boss as a normal character, which results in loads of flaws and freezes. You can never perform the moves the CPU can for a boss.
