Taye Fields lifts Lee-Huntsville over Hazel Green in 6A, Area 16 semifinals

Taye Fields produced 26 points as Lee-Huntsville eliminated Hazel Green 65-37 from the Class 6A, Area 16 tournament. Fields also contributed four rebounds and four assists. Jacari Lane had 13 points, four assists, and four steals. Zyan Green provided 10 points and six rebounds. Kaleb Brown added 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Generals. Lee-Huntsville by three points at the end of the first quarter and halftime. The Generals then increased their lead to 44-31 heading into the fourth quarter. Lee-Huntsville then blew the matchup wide open by outscoring Hazel Green 21-6 in the last eight minutes. T.I. Scruggs scored 13 points to pace the Trojans. Ashton Elliott had 12 points, while Maurice Morris added nine points for Hazel Green. The Generals will face Mae Jemison in the area finals on Friday night. The tipoff is at 7 pm.
