It was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017 and Microsoft Windows in 2020. A remastered version was released for the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows on October 31, 2024. In the 31st century, humans live in scattered tribal-like populations with limited access to technology. Their technologically advanced predecessors are remembered as the "Old Ones". Large robotic creatures, known as "machines", dominate the Earth. The player follows Aloy, as she sets out to uncover her past as she also discovers a phenomenon known as the "Derangement".
