US President Holds Talks with Chinese Representatives during Annual Dialogue

Special representatives of Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with United States President Barack Obama on Wednesday during annual high-level talks. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, Vice Premier Liu Yandong, and State Councilor Yang Jiechi were attending the seventh China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) and the sixth China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) in Washington D.C. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Obama affirmed the China-U.S. ministerial-level exchange mechanism's significant role in broadening the bilateral practical cooperation and handling regional and global challenges. Both sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation in combating climate change and developing clean energy, and to work together to promote the accomplishment of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at the UN climate change conference to be held in Paris at the end of 2015.
