Faces of the WSD - Clayvon Wesley

HAPPY VETERANS DAY! Clayvon Wesley, In-School Suspension Instructor at Wentzville Middle School, is the WSD's next honoree in this new series, "Faces of the WSD." Wesley, a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, is a man with a plethora of life experiences to share with students and staff. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Wesley moved to St. Louis at a young age, and grew up in Mill Creek. After serving his country in the Air Force in Vietnam, he then earned his degree in Art and Art History from St. Louis University. Wesley takes pride in his duties of Artist in Residence, and champions student artwork at Wentzville Middle. As an ISS instructor, his main focus is to get students who get behind on their work - due to various circumstances - back on a track toward success. Through his connections with the Missouri Historical Society, Wesley also supports overall student learning at Wentzville Middle by constructing displays with artifacts on loan from the Society. Without a doubt the three minutes we could show merely scratches the surface of the positive effect this face of the WSD has on all of us.
