JJ Fly WLOL Twin Cities

One of my favorite battles in radio was the one between KDWB and WLOL in Minneapolis/St. Paul . They both always worked hard to make themselves sound better than the other over the years. Here is JJ Fly from March 1989, flirting with listenings and mentioning Yes/No Radio. Yes/No radio was something quite a few radio stations in the country did. At any time you heard a song on the radio you liked, you'd call a phone number. If you didn't like the song, you'd call another number. Yes/No radio didn't last long, but for some radio stations, the numbers were never discconnected. So some cleaver DJs would use those lines for other features on their shows.
