Crispy Rice Sushi, yep that's right we're making sushi at home from Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP. Their pictures are beautiful and gave us inspiration and visions of dining on the coast of California...we can only dream about dining out again. We love sushi and what better way to have fun in the kitchen than by making our own homemade version? Fresh fish on top of warm crispy rice covered in a salty soy and wasabi mixture - sounds like a delight to our senses. We can't wait to assemble and eat, how hard can it be? QUICK TIPS WE LEARNED AFTER TEST: 1. Don't use the entire vinegar sauce as it's salty, we recommend using 1/2 tsp at a time as you fluff. Taste and add more if needed (don't forget you're still brushing the fish with soy sauce). 2. Use an oil spray for your cling wrap, will be easier. 3. Using water did help to keep rice off our fingers, but maybe a little oil goes further on your hands. 4. Make sure your pan is hot, but don't cook too long or the whole thing will be too crispy. 5. Use whatever fish you enjoy most, but make sure to buy the day of and it's sushi grade. 6. The recipe says 3 Tbsp of soy sauce, we found that was too much if we're only brushing it on.
