More than 38 million Americans are expected to travel between Thursday and Monday, including 2.6 million by plane. Dozens of passengers lined up at Miami International (left and right) on Thursday. Passengers had to arrive three hours early at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International to be sure they would catch their flight on Friday morning - and those at Denver International were bracing themselves for at least 45 minutes in line. Some airports had hired musicians to soothe the passengers' nerves this morning, while staff at Denver International handed out chocolate to those standing in line.
