Back in 1997, Stevie Richards had his neck broken by Terry Funk. Months after, Stevie was given a choice - either rejoin ECW, win the ECW Television Title and keep ascending the ladder with the bWo for little money… or accept a guaranteed money offer from Eric Bischoff and WCW and rejoin Raven, albeit in the same roll he occupied in 1995. With neck surgery to pay for and the potential to act more as a manager to save on wear and tear on his body, Stevie signed with WCW. Paul Heyman was more than angry with Stevie, and when Stevie briefly returned to ECW, that became apparent. And when Stevie and Paul were in WWE together, Heyman made it obvious he didn’t care for Stevie. And when ECW was revived by Vince McMahon and WWE, Paul Heyman was the creative director and once again made it apparent he hadn’t forgiven Stevie for “abandoning” ECW in 1997. Has Paul and Stevie ever sat down and discussed that day? Did Stevie need to apologise to the boys on the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD? You be the judge.
