AC/DC "Rock or Bust" ALBUM REVIEW

AC/DC "Rock or Bust" ALBUM REVIEW

Overall: 3.5/5 My review of AC/DC new album Rock or Bust AC/DC is back with their album Rock or Bust. It's their first album since 2008 when they released Black Ice. And with AC/DC we've always known what to expect. Hard rock n' roll. This album is no different. If you're just wanting more AC/DC you're probably not going to be disappointed. There's no piano ballads, there's no synthesizers. Although it has been a tough year for the band. They've had to deal with their drummer Phil Rudd whose been arrested for trying to hire a hit man and drug possession charges And then they've also had their rythmn guitarists Malcolm Young whose been unfortunately dealing with health issues. He's been diagnosed with dementia. So the album opens up on a high note. The first 2 songs out of the gate are just awesome. The song Rock or Bust has this awesome stuttering guitar riff that is similar to highway to hell in some respects. And it's probably one of my favourite songs off the album. The next song Play Ball is just awesome. It's not as heavy as Rock Or Bust but it was used by major league baseball to promote their playoffs which happened a couple of months ago. It's another great song. And from there it just seems like the album just lost my attention. The rest of the album or at least the majority of the rest of the songs just didn't seem as interesting to me. Miss Adventure is another good song. It's got this super catchy guitar riff and awesome background vocals. And then I most interesting song off the album is Rock the House. It's got this Led Zepplin bluesy kind of feel to it. AC/DC has always been a band that's had a lot bluesy influence son it. But man this sounds a lot like Zepplin. And it just sounds like something Jimmy Page would be playing guitar on. I mean the guitar just sounds like something Jimmy Page would play. But you know the rest of the songs I just felt like I could take them or leave them. They were mediocre, they weren't horrible. But you know I didnt eel like they were as strong as the first two songs coming out of the gate as well as Miss Adventure and rock the house. But you're an AC/DC fan and just want more music you're probably going to be pretty happy with this album. I give this a 3.5/5. Thanks for watching guys and don't forget to hit the subscribe button. Take care. Recorded earlier this year in Vancouver, Canada with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser, Rock Or Bust is AC/DC’s first album of new material since 2008’s Black Ice, which debuted at No. 1 in 31 countries and has sold nearly 8 million copies worldwide, according to Sony Music. The band has also shared the so-called “three-dimensional lenticular cover” artwork for the album, which is posted on the official AC/DC Website and will be available in the CD and vinyl versions of the album. AC/DC's Malcolm Young Suffering From Dementia, Family Confirms Rock or Bust represents the start of a new era for the Hall of Famers. The album won't carry the understated work of rock-solid rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who has left the band due to illness, a situation that sparked the false rumor mid-year that AC/DC would call it quits. Malcolm’s brother Angus, the iconic schoolboy-outfitted guitar hero, filled-in for the recording sessions alongside his nephew Stevie Young, who was "magnificent” in the studio frontman Brian Johnson told Classic Rock magazine. “It was brilliant over there,” Johnson said of the recording sessions. “I’m very excited and we’ve got some great songs." Stevie is expected to join the band when they hit the road in 2015 for a full scale tour. AC/DC is Australia’s biggest rock ‘n’ roll export, having sold more than 200 million albums over a career spanning more than four decades. ‘Rock Or Bust’ Tracklisting: "Rock or Bust" "Play Ball" "Rock The Blues Away" "Miss Adventure" "Dogs of War" "Got Some Rock & Roll Thunder" "Hard Times" "Baptism By Fire" "Rock the House" "Sweet Candy" "Emission Control"" http://www.billboard.com/articles/new...
