Here's a lovely Elvis Presley's song dedicated to Mr Pedro, "Love Me Tender" that fits well for Valentine's Day : • Love Me Tender (Elvis Presley) - Singapore... When we converse in a language we know, we do it organically. There's grammar that governs the language, there are some vocabulary, diction & phonetic involve, listening skill, responsiveness, logical flow, and many other things. But eventually we understand what we are conversing and it's good when we do it naturally. Music is a language too. It's good to have natural & organic flow when we are playing music, be it in creating playful phrases, providing steady grooves, weaving nice chord progression, corresponding playfully with your band mates, and so on. It is achievable when we understand the musical "language" and be trained rightly. The same as when we learn language, the transformative learning is not an event but it's a journey, a series of learning the concept, getting to understand how the instrument's system work (be it keyboard, fingerboard, air volume, etc), how we hear & perceive music, and how we build up good motoric habit for the skill. In the midst of our weekly limited time, we'll still be able to progress when we know "what" and "how" to practice. Effective practice is more effective than just "practice hard", but investing time & energy for the essential things. The latter effort will have a good pay off in the long run.
