'Scott Morrison’s trying to repeat the last election and come home with a wet sail': Clennell

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the economy is “really critical” for the Coalition’s election campaign come May 2022. “But the difficulty will be Queensland and WA, etc, as they open up will they end up with – even if they’re temporary – lockdowns, and so that could create a whole world more of hurt again for Scott Morrison,” Mr Clennell told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “Honestly, in early June, I would say this is Scott Morrison’s election hands down, more than 80 seats. “We had those lockdowns, the complexion entirely changed, Labor’s clearly ahead but there are a lot of uncommitted voters and Scott Morrison’s trying to repeat the last election and come home with a wet sail. “But without an agenda that’s greatly different to Labor’s, he’s going to have to rely on a lot of luck.”
