Neighbors push for change after Frankfort officer injured, another killed in Clinton Co. crash

One person was killed and two people, including a Frankfort Police Department chief deputy, were injured in a two-car crash in Clinton County early Friday, police said. The crash was reported around 4:45 a.m. March 6 on State Road 39, just south of County Road 650 South. That's around six miles south of Frankfort. Indiana State Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a 2025 Chevrolet sedan was traveling southbound on State Road 39, while a 2023 Chevrolet SUV driven by Frankfort PD Chief Deputy Cesar Muñoz was traveling northbound prior to the crash. The sedan was attempting to pass another car when it entered the northbound lane, into the path of the SUV. Both cars left the east side of the road before colliding, police said. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead by the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office. A passenger in the sedan and Muñoz were both taken to a Lafayette-area hospital, and their conditions were described as "stable." MORE: https://www.wthr.com/article/news/loc...
