The Visit – 11 a.m. Traditional Worship (Dec. 13, 2020)

This week's preacher is Dr. Davis Chappell. We continue our series on the prophecy of Jesus called "The Family Tree." This series also continues our year-long focus on intentional discipleship that we're calling "Walking with Jesus." Download our order of worship, register your attendance, and find Sunday School lessons for children and youth at bumc.net/live. The chancel flowers are presented to the glory of God by Annette and Ken Donahey with grateful hearts at the season of Advent. ORDER OF WORSHIP ................................... Chiming of the Hour Voluntary A Word of Welcome Advent Wreath Lighting of the Candle of Joy Hymn 246 Joy to the World Affirmation of Faith We believe that God has come to us. God brought us into being and gave us breath and purpose. We have been blessed to be a blessing to others, and when we have fallen short of this commandment, God has nevertheless loved us despite our brokenness. We believe that God is coming to us. God will be made known to us in flesh and bone like ours. Mary will soon give birth and Joseph will soon clap his hands in joy, for Jesus Christ will be born and our salvation made complete. We believe that God will come to us. God will give us the presence of the Holy Spirit to continue our work. We are called to be disciples to all the corners of the earth, and the day is coming when tears and pain will be no more, and all will gather at the table to sing an endless “Alleluia!” Amen.
