Unemployment Stimulus Bill Update | No Retroactive $300 Boost, Possible Gaps In Payments

In today's unemployment stimulus update, I have some updates that are concerning to me. The first is that according to Jeff Stein a Washington Post reporter the $300 boost might not be retroactive at all not even to December 1st! Instead the $300 unemployment boost might start January 1st. The second thing is that according to policy advisor Elizabeth Pancotti it may be too late to prevent gaps in payments to people getting PUA unemployment or the PEUC extension. The next thing that concerns me is that we might not know more about when and if we're getting another unemployment stimulus boost until next week. Originally it was thought that Congress would make a decision on passing the new stimulus bill by Friday December 11th but instead they may use a stop gap on CR continued resolution to avoid a Government shutdown and extend the talks on the next stimulus package until December 18th. This would mean it would be very unlikely that even if they do approve a retroactive stimulus boost that we'd get the extra unemployment money before the holidays.
