TOPIC: IS YOUR FAITH CHILDLIKE OR CHILDISH?  First Reading: First Timothy 3: 14-16 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 111: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 Alleluia: John 6: 63c, 68c Gospel: Luke 7: 31-35 In today's Gospel reading, our Lord compares the generation of men during His day to children at play who were equally hard to please. They were always finding fault in any messenger that God sent among them. First came John the Baptist, living a retired, ascetic, self-denying life and at once the Jews said, "he has a devil." After him Jesus Christ came, eating and drinking, and adopting a social life like ordinary men and at once the Jews accused Him of being “a gluttonous man, and a wine imbiber.” In short, the Lord was convinced that the Jews were determined to receive no message from God at all.   Despite the sneers, objections, and unkind remarks with which the Gospel is received by the majority of mankind, there will always be some in every country who will assent to it and obey it with delight.     May the Lord God bless and take care of His people in every age.   This is the 1245th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, Head of CFC Gateway Evangelization, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
