The MLB concluded their investigation of the Atlanta Braves and announced the punishments that they would be implementing on the team. The Braves will lose 13 prospects, including Kevin Maitan, who was the top prospect in the international market in 2016, and was signed for $4.25 million. Other than that, the punishments for the Braves were not that bad, but the main one was that former GM John Coppollella has been given a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball. Manfred came down particularly hard on Coppollella. I'm bummed out about it because I really thought highly of Coppollella. But it seems as though Manfred wanted to come down hard on someone and make an example of them. And according to an article released by Mark Bradley, Coppollella still wasn't very cooperative, and still tried to keep secrets during the investigation. So at the end of the day, Manfred felt no guilt in giving him a lifetime ban.
