This depends up on type of surgery and type of heart disease.If you do surgery for artrial septal defect or ventrucal septal deffects ,patient will recover in 3 to 4 days.If it is coronary bypass surgery patients require 5 to 7 days to recover.If you do minimally invasive bypass surgery .patient could be discharged on 3rd day after the surgery.If we do open surgery patient needs to stay for 6 to 12 days in the hospital.So it depends on type of surgery and type of disease.
