Mako shark attacks Thresher shark at Goleta Pier! ~ Fishermen get huge surprise!

June 11, 2020 - a fisherman at the end of the Goleta Pier near Santa Barbara, California, caught an approximately 9ft long Thresher shark. He was preparing to hook it with a grappling hook to lift it up onto the pier when a much larger Mako shark showed up out of nowhere and attacked the hooked Thresher shark. The Mako shark ended up biting the Thresher shark in half, and then swam off with the tail. This is not my video and I can't take credit for it, but I am sharing it because it is incredible. I wasn't there. I went for a walk on the pier with my wife the next day, and overheard a nice fisherman talking about the "shark encounter" his fisherman friends had the day before and the incredible video of it. He was nice enough to share the video with me, and I am posting it here. Enjoy, and beware if you are ever swimming near the Goleta Pier! FYI, EXPLICIT, excited language.
