Classic TV Theme: Probe (Isaac Asimov)

Parker Stevenson's character was more than a little anti-social but he had a brilliant mind. Ashley Crow is the secretary who plays Watson to Parker's Holmesian intellect. Science-fiction (and mystery) writer Isaac Asimov helped create the show. No case is too bizarre: from a man in the desert who's seen an electrical alien, to a girl who insists all her neighbors have been replaced by imposters. The synthy theme is by Sylvester Levay (known for 'Airwolf' etc). PS It's not just fans who have fond memories of this short-lived series.
