Wide of building STORYLINE: In the centre of Ukraine's capital, people gathered Friday night to celebrate news of Russia's retreat from the Kherson region in the south of the country. They waved flags and sang the Ukrainian anthem. Many said they were originally from Kherson, but fled the area as Russia forces invaded earlier this year. Ukrainian authorities highlighted the gains of their military in Kherson on Friday. In a video address hours after Russia said it had completed withdrawing troops from the strategically key city, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: “As of now, our defenders are approaching the city. In quite a bit, we are going to enter. But special units are already in the city." But details of the Russian retreat and future strategy for Moscow's war are not yet clear.
