Student march in London to decry cuts and fee-hikes

In addition to fees being tripled at some universities, a number of educational institutions are also facing budget cuts leading to a reduction in the numbers of courses available. The government claims these changes will lead to more competitive universities, which will be more accountable to those who choose to attend. However, students taking part in the protest complained it was privatisation of higher education.
