TROIS RIVIERES TORCH TREK The Torch Of Life came to Trois Rivieres, QC December 11 2009 Day 49 For Madame Celine Leboeuf SOS THE AMERICAS On October 23 2009 the famous Torch Of Life was lit in Wasilla, Alaska. It was the start of 2 year journey that ends up in Argentina October 24 2011. During this journey thousands of students will carry the Torch from almost 300 cities in 36 countries of the Americas. Together, with the community, media and all levels of Government, these student torch champions will bring organ & tissue donations to the forefront and hopefully help save many lives The events in Trois Rivieres were in tribute to a remarkable lady, Madame Celine Leboeuf. Almost 2 years ago Celine inspired everyone with her courage and survival instincts by undergoing 2 liver transplants within months. The mother of 2 sons, Alex & Anthony and wife of Luc Gélinas is going back to work in January 2010. Her sons carried the Torch Of Life from Trois Rivieres City Hall to College Lafleche. Mr François Roy hosted the activities at City Hall and our treasured and longtime Quebec contact Yves Jourbert were at hand once again to help out.
