For this album, I wanted to showcase the ornate Graphic 45 Magic of Oz paper designs while also leaving room to add photos, mementos, and journaling notes without worrying about covering the pretty parts. I created statement pages that aren’t necessarily meant for customization. These stand-alone designs feature complex Oz scenes. Overall, it took a little less than half the paper pack with plenty of stickers and chipboard pieces to use after adding photos. I started with a complete book base, but the spine proved a little tricky due to the ornate metal label holder. That will remain as-is or get a makeover later. The inside cover features the first statement page. Inspired by the Club G45 tutorial developed by Annette Green, I created a pop-up frame to showcase the friendship between Scarecrow and Tin Man. Although foam tape is the usual choice for creating dimension, a simple fold in the paper can accomplish the same effect. Since the pocket pages are a bit snug, I added mats to the plain pages and decorative strips to the pockets. The tags have a simple decoration on one side, leaving the back blank for customization. Pop-up banners throughout the mini album add flair while leaving open space for decorating. To create another statement page, I cut out the scarecrow, his sign, and two crows. The “wanted” sign pop up is the tallest element. Scarecrow has a bit of dimension created by folding and gluing the branding strip leftovers. Wet glue secures the pesky crows, creating a very subtle layer on the page of orange Ozians. The last page, featuring Dorothy and Toto, works as a statement page or a place to add a little description tag or memento beneath her hand.
