May's Story | On The Dodo!

This video was made and edited by The Dodo. Thank you so much "The Dodo" for sharing May's story! As much as it sound like a dream to raise a duck, it is very important for me to emphasis that I don't recommend it. I have just happened to be in that situation since I've rescued him, I didn't do it intentionally and made the best out of it. 2. The pool has no chlorine in it :-) 3. I was familiar with what "imprinting" is, I just didn't understand the deep meaning of it and that it will mean that I wouldn't be able to leave May's side even for a second! (it's edited out). 4. May and me have been together 24/7 for two and a half months. After a lot of hard work, dedication and a long process, two weeks ago May was finally fine with being left with other ducks and without me (He is 3 months old now). He has finally spread his wings ;) Every day I get to see him and I get inside his compound to say hello and to give him kisses :) 5. What you don't see is the "behind the scenes" of raising a duck. Ducks poop all the time and everywhere! It is a constantly cleaning. I couldn't leave May's side even for a second! The minute I tried to leave, he got nervous and started crying. We REALLY did everything together- we went to the supermarket together, did shopping and errands together, when I wanted to take a shower May was waiting inside the carrier next to me... At times I was not able to sleep since May was crying and I didn't want to leave him alone, I found myself sleeping on the floor next to him for hours. I didn't even need an alarm clock cause May started calling me loudly at 6:00AM everyday! As much as it was such an amazing and unbelievable experience, I'm so happy May was finally able to be independent and not be dependent on me as until now. Ducks are a social animals and it is not healthy for a duck to be alone. The best thing for a duck is to be with other ducks and to have their own pack and to live outside.
