First Pass Storyboard vs. Thumbnails — Warriors of Virtue

Music: “Epic” by Bensound.com. Thank you for your permission. How detailed should Storyboard Panels be compared to Thumbnails when storyboarding? It depends on who is seeing the boards. If the boards are shown to other experienced artists working in house, they do not need to be very detailed (though they should always be clear). If they are to be viewed by non-artists, investors, producers, etc. they should be more detailed. Such boards tend to be called Presentation Boards, while the in-house boards are called Working Boards. If the project is to be animated overseas, the boards should also be more detailed and on model compared to in-house work. In this animatic video, I’ve decided to show you what a working/presentation First Pass Storyboard looks like when compared to its Thumbnails. Any questions?
