Putting myself in a dangerous situation. UTBDR#3- Suzuki DR650

I start out climbing up and down beautiful ridges on the Utah UTBDR. Talk about the importance of carrying a lot of water when on the back country. Then get some quick glances of some wild turkeys. But then to my surprise, I come to a locked hate. Which is the route im supposed to go. And unsure if i have enough fuel to back track. I decide to go around gate and push on. I only needed to go around 10 miles. And needed to see what was ahead..
