Mass Effect No Commentary Walkthrough Part 13: Virmire (Xbox One X)

When Commander Shepard arrived to Eden Prime, the human colony was under attack by a Synthetic AI known as The Geth. Unbeknownst to Shepard and Nihlus, another Council Spectre was on the scene; Saren. Saren wasn't there to help the situation, he was the cause of it, and he learned the secrets of the beacon and left on his massive ship; Sovereign. Shepard managed to read the beacon as well before its destruction, and it showed him a garbled vision of death and destruction. Confused by this newfound knowledge, Shepard goes to the Citadel to alert the Council on Saren's treachery. Hesitant to believe that Saren would be aligned with the Geth (and even more doubtful of claims of the Reapers being real by Shepard), the Council is of no help until proof can be obtained. Shepard discovers that a man named Fist is helping Saren on The Citadel, and so he moves to question Fist before the opportunity is lost. Along the way, he meets a Turian named Garrus Vakarian, a Krogan named Urdnot Wrex, and a Quarian named Tali. These three join Shepard's force, and together they present the evidence of Saren's treachery to the Council. Once again, the Council is unwilling to accept the possibility that the Reapers are the real threat in this situation. However, they agree that Saren must be stopped, and after removing Saren's Spectre status, decide that Commander Shepard will become the first human Spectre. Tasked with putting an end to Saren, Shepard has three objectives. First, he must find Liara, a Asari archeologist who is the daughter of Matriarch Benezia (Saren's accomplice). Second, he must find and stop Matriarch Benezia on Noveria, and third, he has to travel to the planet Feros and investigate a strong Geth presence in the region. Along the way, Shepard will explore planets across the galaxy, offering aid to those in need as he attempts to save them from Saren's diabolical plan. After saving Liara and completing missions across the galaxy, Commander Shepard moved to investigate the small human colony on Feros. The main objective was to save the colonists from the Geth, but along the way Shepard will found menacing new foe; The Thorian. An ancient lifeform, the Thorian guided Saren on his path, but was ultimately destroyed by Shepard and his squamates. Freed from the Thorian, a former agent of Matriarch Benezia bestows another Prothean vision to Shepard, bringing him one step closer to ending Saren once and for all. Once he completed his quest on Feros, Commander Shepard moved to rescue workers from an asteroid racing towards a nearby planet. What Shepard didn't know was that a group of Batarian terrorists were already on the asteroid, intent on destroying it and every human still alive. Although he had to allow the Batarian leader; Balak, to escape, Shepard saved the remaining hostages and stopped the asteroid's dissent. The threat of the asteroid removed, Shepard traveled to Noveria to confront Matriarch Benezia. Overcoming a formerly extinct race known as the Rachni, Shepard fought Benezia and her guards, and with the help of Liara, helped Benezia overcome Saren's influence. Succumbing to her injuries, Matriarch Benezia told Shepard of the strength of Saren's will, which is greatly amplified by his ship Sovereign. With that clue in his possession, Shepard prepares for the final few steps of his journey. Without further ado, let's continue the Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 1 and the battle on Virmire... *Since this channel will cover all three Mass Effect games (sorry Andromeda), I'll be going out of my way to help everyone feel immersed in this fictional setting.
