THE Onederworld in Kenya: Healthcare on Wheels

1 December 2009: The Pimbiniet community, which THE Onederworld is supporting through our holistic community development programme, has very limited access to distant healthcare facilities. Therefore, the rural mobile healthcare clinic has become a welcome sight in the village. While the mobile clinic provides primary healthcare services which entails the provision of medical treatment and medicine for specific health concerns (such as de-worming treatments for all schoolchildren, as shown in the video), it also offers emergency services as well as health education outreach programmes. The latter consists of training the local community through workshops in first aid, personal hygiene and sanitation, mother and child healthcare, nutrition, infectious diseases, family life education and any other arising community concerns.
