Index Controller Durability Test (UPDATE in Description)

4 year update (final): Unfortunately, my other controller has also failed as of this week. The same issue occurred with the right controller. I am officially on my second pair of index controllers. 3 year edit (just shy of 4 years after initial purchase): My left controller (not the one thrown) finally gave out. The battery is no longer holding a charge. My attempt to replace the battery failed, and I lost finger tracking. Rest in peace, 4-year-old e-waste. Around 1.5 year edit: The controllers are actually very durable. This controller I threw is still functioning today, even after more bangs and scuffs. The other one has been just as abused in my efforts of punching fans, TVs and various walls, yet they march on. Good job, Valve.
