Stroke Recovery - Number 20

This was written in 2015. My friend Ben Maxey whom I worked with in the mortgage business for a long time had a hemorrhagic stroke ( bleeding in the brain) about 5 years ago in Central Market secondary to high blood pressure. He spent 6 weeks in ICU at Harborview and still is undergoing rehab and will for years to come. Can no longer work and has a wife and 2 beautiful daughters to care for. He has decreased function on the right side with chronic foot drop and minimal function to his right hand. Bioness makes equipment that his therapist and doctors recommend that would be helpful to him in his quality of life and help him regain some function in his arm and leg. Of course the catch is Medicare doesn't cover this. So he needs our help to get this!! If you can find it in your heart to help in anyway it would be appreciated. Ben has been able to regain some of his life back but this would be huge for him! I may have had some tragedy and physical loss but I can't imagine losing my speech, ability to use a limb or ambulate easily.
