EU imposes sanctions on more top Russians, adds sanctions of Belarus banks

The European Union announced that new sanctions would be imposed on many more top Russian officials and oligarchs and on exports on technology used for the navy, along with new sanctions on Belarus's banks. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday that the 27 member states agreed to impose new restrictions on Russia and Belarus in light of Russian President Vladimir Putin's continued invasion of Ukraine, according to Reuters.
