Laparoscopy is a method of doing a surgery. It is not a method .For example cholecystectomy, Laparoscopy is a method of doing Laparoscopic cholecystectomy. So it is the surgery that decides when you should follow up with the physician or the surgeon who has performed the surgery. So it is the surgery that will decide and hence the surgeon who has done the procedure will decide when you should follow up with the patient.
