It is a wonderful event of theatre, music and food from Balkan area – for all generations and for everyone’s enjoyment. An event that should become a tradition. Saturday, 30th of April at 7:00pm, The opening of the festival with Poetry Theatre performed by Dijana Jovičić i Igor Hadži – Jovanović. Diana will recite most beautiful poetry accompanied by Igor and his guitar. Saturday 07. May from 7:00pm, The second day of this festival will introduce you to the story of Sreten Božiću Wongar. Nest will present a short video/presentation of Wongar’s life and his writing. Also, a screening of a part of the film “Totem and Ore” and presentation of Wongar book “RAKI”. The book “RAKI” talks about the indigenous community in the Northern Territory and their life at a time when the danger of nuclear war was growing. Wongar lived with Aboriginal community for 10 years, On Sunday 08.May, The main festival day is full of great events planned from the early morning: From 10:00am Food stalls – Food from Balkan area – BBQ, goulash, cheese pastry and yummy homemade cakes Other interesting items for sale: Wardrobe, books, organic fruits and vegetables Unique Lunch opportunity while browsing, listening to music and meeting friends 12:00 pm – The children’s play “Mudrijasevic and Krokodilovic” performed by Dijana Jovicic. This is a unique opportunity for children to see something different. Also an opportunity for children to take their mothers out because it is a Mother’s Day…. 3:00pm Theatrical play in Serbian “Jazavac pred sudom” This play is based on the novel by Petar Kocic, Directed by: Sergej Kozul. A classic and popular story, a wonderful comedy about the absurdity of power that can be transferred to any time and any place. Starring: Sertgej Kozul, Radoslav Radovic, Dario Moconja, Dusko Trifunovic. From 6:00pm, as the icing on the cake, in the big hall of the Cromer Community Centre the amazing “Balkan Ethno Orchestra” will perform a concert. As many as ten performers will perform the best music from the Balkans. All you have to do is to come and enjoy at least one of the event during the Nest Festival. Free entry to all events.
