Signals in electrical networks are time varying functions. They may have different shapes and characteristics. In this tutorial, various non-sinusoidal signals are introduced. The detailed analysis of both positive, negative, unit steps and delayed step functions, their definitions, representations are discussed. Also, their Laplace transforms are found out. The time displacement theorem is proved. The logical development and simple explanation, and emphasis on concepts more than detailed mathematical steps, keeps the interest of viewers till the end, I feel.
