Death Stranding 2 On the Beach is finally available on PC, and the PC port of the game is pretty great! I am benchmarking Death Stranding 2 using a PC with an RTX 3070 which has 8GB of VRAM, the same as the recommend GPU for the game. This is with an I7-8700K (via a 10900K with 4 disabled cores) and windows 10. This setup allows me to run the game largely locked to 60FPS with a mixture of high and very high preset. Death Stranding 2 supports DLSS, FSR and XeSS for both frame generation and upscaling. Though RTX 40 and 50 cards are exclusive for DLSS frame generation, of course. The in-game quality settings are very tweakable, and the moment you change a setting you can see the effect in game. Ray Tracing is exclusive to the PC version of Death Stranding 2, but is very taxing, and probably best disabled for lower to mid range cards such as the RTX 3070 unless you're willing to use DLSS performance or similar. I did also test the RTX 3070 card (outside this video) with FSR 3.1.5 and found performance the same (within a frame or two) of DLSS, so stuck with that for this video. Death Stranding 2 does however, have some settings that are quite heavy such as Transluency, and turning this down to the default can save a good chunk of performance in some locations in the game. I had previously stated there wasn't shader compilation during loading, but I think it's because it was so fast on the Ryzen 9 9950X3D / RTX 5090 system. I did spot it during first load this time around, but it is hidden in a cutscene. Skipping the cut scene shows the compilation, but it's still quite quick on just the 8700k. I'd also add that there's no shader compilation I've found during gameplay, though if you make big changes in settings there can be a second or two of loading
