US sale of Arms to Republic of China Taiwan

The U.S Department of State has approved the sale of tanks and missiles at an estimated cost of over $2.5 billion to Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in the United States. As per Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) the sales would not affect the basic military balance in the region but Beijing has already expressed concern about Taiwan’s equipment requests. As per foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang The sale of weapons by the United States to Taiwan seriously violates the one-China principle.
