Special Report - Pascrell Secures Funds for State-of-the-Art Fire Truck

Mayor Thomas Calabrese thanks Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. Senator Bob Menendez and Senator Cory Booker for helping the Borough of Cliffside Park secure the grant for our new state-of-the-art fire truck that is very important to the township and we are grateful for the grant. Councilwoman and Fire Commissioner, Dana Martinotti also shared her appreciation as well as gratefulness for their support in enhancing the apparatus which ultimately enhances our response to the community. On behalf of the Cliffside Park Fire Department, Fire Chief, Greg Yfantis, thanked the entire Cliffside Park governing body for supporting the fire department their grant application for the new Mid-Mount Tower Ladder. Without the grant, it would have been a great financial burden to the residents and Borough of Cliffside Park. Cliffside Park Fire Official & Firefighter, Frank Poerio shared that he has been a member of the fire department for 48 years. It’s a great and amazing organization. Pamela Leone, Cliffside Park Firefighter, shared how she joined the #CliffsidePark Fire Department in 2007 at the age of 18, right out of high school because she always had aspirations since her father and grandfather were both firefighters too. She is proud to continue their legacy and it is so rewarding giving back to the community. Cliffside Park Battalion Fire Chief, Joe-Joe Diaz shared that there’s no place he would rather be than with the CPFD and this town. Fire Commissioner and Councilwoman Dana Martinotti also shared how this department is truly there for each other, it is one big family. She encouraged anyone with an interest to please come and visit the Cliffside Park Fire Department as well as consider becoming a member of this very elite department.
